Alexandra Fallgren

Alexandra Fallgren writes about messy queer characters coming of age in a messy (mostly) straight world. She grew up doing theater in Iowa, went to college for opera in Michigan, and now lives in Chicago where she surrounds herself with words. She holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University and is a Lambda Literary Emerging Writers Retreat Fellow. When not living in imaginary worlds, Alexandra plays cello and takes too many photos of her cats.

Miracle Grey has been internet famous since before she was born. As the daughter of a prominent momfluencer, Mira's entire life has been photographed, cleverly captioned, and posted for consumption by her mom's two million followers. But when her mother finally crosses an unforgivable boundary in pursuit of her own publicity, Mira sues her mother for her right to digital privacy, and to protect herself, her siblings, and all the kids like them.

Kristin Allard at Norton Young Readers has acquired Alexandra Fallgren's debut YA novel I Don't Belong to You, in which, after a lifetime of having her most important moments used as "content" for her influencer mother's brand, a queer teen girl must find the courage to stand up for herself by suing her mother for control of her online footprint. Publication is slated for winter 2027; Sara Crowe at Sara Crowe Literary brokered the deal for world rights.
