BIPOC

Birukti Tsige (she/her) is an Ethiopian-American writer, born in Addis Ababa and now residing in New England. She has a bachelor’s in Neuroscience from Harvard College, and a Creative Writing master’s from Cambridge University. She was a Gates, U.S. Presidential, and Harvard-Cambridge scholar—all this really means is that, at various points, she was really good at convincing people to please fund her education. When she’s not writing, she can be found napping or in the kitchen struggling to make simple meals.

Nidhi Pugalia at Viking has acquired world rights to Too Pretty to Lie, the debut novel from Ethiopian American writer Birukti Tsige. Jennifer March Soloway at Andrea Brown Literary brokered the deal. Viking said the book is a “heist-revenge novel” in the vein of Portrait of a Thief that follows “gorgeous hustler Chernet as she infiltrates the Harvard elite to steal from the sons and daughters of the rich and powerful.” A publication date has not yet been announced.
