Arlie Adkins is an author and academic with degrees from the University of Oregon and UC Berkeley. His research on urban health and safety disparities is widely cited and has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Guardian. Originally from Oregon, he now divides his time between Tucson and Portland. His writing draws on his love of travel, history, and the OGs of psychological suspense: Patricia Highsmith, Daphne du Maurier, and Shirley Jackson. One of his short stories was a semifinalist for American Short Fiction’s 2025 Halifax Ranch Fiction Prize. Andiamo! is his debut novel.
